Söderåsens Nationalpark

The last day, yesterday, we went to a canyon like river valley in Söderåsens Nationalpark.

Carin proposed a grill and as Erik like to make little fires we followed this advice without hesitating. On the road we bought some chicken wings and sausages.
Sweden has hardly good sausages. They have only all kinds of Wiener and other similar industrial sausages. Freshly made like we know them … not possible to find in a warehouse.

After some effort we had a nice little fire and when it was all glowing ashes the meat was softly baking on the fire place.

It was clear the ducks were used to have people around making food as there was a couple begging for some bread. Strangely enough also a couple and a young Whooper swan (Cygnus cygnus) were hoping a little bit further for some nice food. A cherry tomato which was dropped accidentally disappeared quickly.
Time to make some nice pictures.

After the BBQ we started a long walk.
Nearby the dam a common goldeneye (knipa på Svenska) was  so close we could see him diving under water.

Look how the tail is spread flat on the water.

Up on the rim we had some stunning views.

In the evening Carin prepared us typical "Svensk mat", warm smoked salmon with dillepotatis.
